We aim to train women and young people in rural areas to plant Moringa trees along with other trees to be effective Moringa produces suppliers to improve their livelihoods and create economic, environmental and social impacts in Mali. However, farmers only rely on the 3 months raining season to irrigate their crops and trees. The only source of water they have are boreholes which only dry out during dry season (November- May ). The rainfall varies from 1000ml to 200 ml depending on the region. Mali has four major climatic zones: the Saharan (desert) zone in the north where vegetation is concentrated around the oases; the Sahelian zone a little further south (semi-arid tropical climate) where crops are very random given the low rainfall (see below); the Sudanian zone in the center of the country where livestock and crops are possible; and the Sudano-Guinean zone in the south, which is humid. Note that there is also a nomenclature for intermediate regions such as the Sudano-Sahelian zone, which is often studied.
