Challenge Background

Excess tree felling for cooking and other economic benefits has led to the problem of erosion in many rural communities. This is because the lack of affordable and sustainable alternative energy sources for domestic and agricultural use has forced many communities to rely heavily on firewood and charcoal for cooking. In addition firewood and charcoal have also become a source of livelihood for some rural communities, who sell them for economic sustenance.

What we are looking for

We hope to acquire basic knowledge in simple concepts of converting agricultural waste to biogas for cooking. We are also open to any other solutions that can provide alternative, affordable energy for rural communities to avoid excess tree felling to reduce erosion.

What we offer

We will offer local labor, strategic tree planting campaign, and seedlings for planting as buffers along flood prone areas.

located in Makurdi, Benue State, serves as a commercial nerve center for agribusiness. Our primary focus is to provide intensive capacity-building programs for farmers and youths in innovative agriculture and agribusiness services. We also desirous to identifying and developing local innovators and entrepreneurs, as we believe that agritech has the potential to lift many young people out of poverty.
